Part of the problem and the solution
The only person you have control over is yourself. Therefore, in relationships, one is a part of the problem and the solution.
Suppose you are finding yourself frustrated and unhappy with your partner. In that case, there are tools you can learn to get yourself to a better place to become a positive catalyst toward a more fulfilling relationship. And when both partners are on board… it is even better!!
Who should change?
If you are like most people, you may often feel that you are waiting for another person to change or just “get it” before you feel that you can be happy.
There is a way to increase your happiness despite what your partner does or doesn’t do, and this can also help your partner to feel more open to improving. We can all improve in some way in our lives as long as we’re alive.
Everyone faces challenges in their relationships, and outside help can be extremely beneficial. Couples therapy provides a safe and non-judgmental space where you and your partner can break out of the negative cycles you find yourselves in.
In my work with couples, I will be seeing both of you during some sessions and individually for other sessions. This approach has been most effective because we can work on any individual barriers or emotional baggage that may impact your relationship’s growth.
Once a foundation of trust and respect has been established, we can safely and effectively test out and practice new ways of interacting during the joint session.
